Appears that design flaws for it being more open worked against Shadow Fall rather than being in its favour. That's something you don't see everyday. What a shame. Rather difficult to know that without playing the game. I think it's safe to say we won't get another Killzone for... a long time to come (if ever).

So its getting harsh reviews for not being linear?

It's not all black and white though.

It's being open and people don't exactly say thats bad. However numerous people feel they have to backtrack because they forgot to press a button or something and that takes away from the experience. The game doesn't seem to instruct you well enough on what you should do at all times. Sometimes they walk a bit and get into a firefight that leads them away from the place they were supposed to go to.

I could've sworn playing the game at a game convention, that up on the d-pad showed you the objective and gave you an orange dot which was telling you to basically go there. I'm not sure though, perhaps its not in the full game or reviewers maybe missed it hence the reason they walked around aimlessly at times and that must've been frustrating like some point out :(

Gamereactor for instance even said "It shows that GG are new to having a more large area"
