Not all of Ninty's games are "top quality". With that said, it is understandible why this game was less than stellar given how stretched Cerny and Studio Japan have been. They were simply undertaking too much.

As for GG, at least they learn from their issues. Reviews point out how they have learned much from their previous games and have made welcome changes (especially relating to the story), despite a very short window and a relatively modest budget. Some of the shortfalls in this new one relate to uncharted territory for them, but that suggests they are willing to try new things (for them) instead of sticking to patterns.
