If you are talking about a sales vs cost, one of the lead producers was on the 1up yours podcast during GDC and she said they were "in the black" and that a sequel was lined up. Obviously, Sony and the dev team all wished they had Halo's numbers but it still made a profit with what saies it has. How big of a profit is uncertain but its still there.
