You're kidding, right? Most Nintendo games would fit on a DVD. Some third party games are bigger, like the example I gave, Lego City Undercover. And guess what? The loading times in that game are very long. But that's just one part of the problem. With the ever increasing data transfer rate of GPUs, the optical drive transfer rates have become a bottleneck. Installing content is a workaround to this limitation. Believe in your conspiracy theory as much as you want. That won't change the facts.
