He was playing the game with the update... it is a secret... a day after the Live ban (when the console do the checkin) it stopped to work.

But of course the Magical Ponies from MS/Activision just bunerd his CoD copy... not related with internet online checkins.

I can't disagree that if your are predisposed to the most negative aspects in things, that you would come to the conclusion that it is DRM.  With most things, I tend to leave the tinfoil hat on the shelf where it belongs.
