I don't think Sony has paid for Street Fighter 5 exclusivity, just USF4 which is considerably cheaper. Let's put it this way. A few months ago, Yoshinoro announced that he had no plans to bring USF4 to the next gen. Then a delay was announced. Then the PS4 Hadouken cabs video came out.
Case 2: Yoshinoro said on twitter that there was not enough resources to make a new fighting game. Just last month, the same guy announced that they have just begun working on a new fighting game for an undecided platform.
It's like you can see the moneyhatting happening.
I know Sony's doing crap right now, but they're still funding hundred million dollar films and signing multimillion dollar contracts with artists - I don't see why they couldn't spend a fraction of that to get exclusivity by funding projects.
