Indeed, and that sucks but you can't blame people that don't want to put themselves at risk like that.

Even those that understand people on suppresents + condoms have a very small chance of contracting it (still too high for me but then I'm a health freak)

Ya thats just how i took his statement saying its game over,   as in no more Sex for you! .. but i do know there are dating sites specifically for people with STI's so not all hope is lost.    In terms of medical advances, They have managed to get some pretty much cured.  No longer needing meds and not contageous but still had trace amounts in the body.   I think the count is around 15 people so far.   not much but that is MAJOR progress

I wouldnt want to go anywhere near someone who has HIV,   not that i think less of them, id just be scared as fuck

Yeah, it's understandable, which is why my heart goes out to those that have it, but as you can see from this thread there are people with it making the most of their lives!

And I'm confident we'll see a cure in our lifetime.

oh i am to, The fear of getting tested i think is huge.   No one wants to go get the test,  wait days anxious as hell worried about everything.   Where i live they say it takes about 3 days for results, and will only call you if your positive.  So your sitting there waiting hoping a call never comes.  Its very stressful.  If there were easier ways to get tested i think more would.  which would be a major development because the sooner they catch it, the more likely they can get you to this "cured"  level.  i think it was either 2 weeks or 2 months but i cant recall.

I feel really bad for those who have it and have met many nice caring individuals who do.
