I think it has a very good chance. People forget that the PS3 is still relatively expensive. It has several years left of life as a cheap system for popular multiplatform games (Fifa, Madden, Call of Duty) and as a blu-ray player and media center. Sony systems are also popular in emerging markets, which tend to buy systems in larger numbers late in the generation when the price comes down. It will take a couple years for the PS4 and XB1 to really take off and dominate the market, and in the mean time the PS3 (as well as the 360) will benefit from people who want to play popular third party titles at an affordable price point.

I seem to remember Ken Kuturagi saying that the PS3 would sell 100 million units and it sounded crazy at the time.
