Anyway, I think it's fair to say that everyone had blood on their hands concerning Rare's fall from grace. Even Nintendo. Something was clearly wrong when a single 2nd party studio is give or take putting out more games than Nintendo's entire internal division.

I don't understand? Nintendo has blood on its hands because Rare turned out so many great games during the 5th gen?

No I mean, because they were exhausted as a result, I don't think it was a coincidence that a lot of key personnel left from 2000 onwards.

And if you really wanna be thrown for a loop, Star Fox Adentures wasn't going to be a Star Fox game at all before Nintendo stuck their noses in.

Oh I see. That's an interesting theory. But did Rare push its employees too hard, or did Nintendo do the pushing? I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that.

Yeah, I know about the whole Dinosaur Planet thing. It would have been nice to see Rare's original vision realized, but I thought Star Fox Adventures was a fine game.

In the end, I strongly believe that both Rare and Nintendo benefitted greatly from the partnership, despite any fallout in 2002. I doubt we'll ever see such a successful venture between a hardware company and a second-party studio ever again.
