Agreed. I don't know if I'd call the Ps3 an epic failure, it at the most will ensure a place in the market for the PS4. But to be honest, a console that can take the biggest two generation winning streak in History and throw it away over something as trivial to gaming as Blu-Ray complimented with the bitter reality of squandering all of the PS2's 7+ years of profits and a good chunk of the PS1's as well (in addition to negating any profit the PSP had made up to this point) with its losses... You really have to ask yourself, is the PS3 in anyway a success?

Let us not forget the embarassment of tacted on motion controls which "forced" the removal dualshock only to be re-added later at a premium completely unchanged from the PS2 and increasingly watered down SKUs which have progressively removed Backward Compatibility altogether. And the PS-Eye, well, as Trentton put it, fun is in the "Eye" of the beholder. Or do I need to bring up the list of exclusive franchises Sony has lost because of the PS3 as well while I'm at it?

The PS3 has set the Sony brand's stake in gaming back over a decade and will never pay off the losses its incurred within its lifetime. I sure hope to god Blu-Ray was worth it for all of you.

You'll cut costs way more than you cut revenue, and thus increase profit.
