Not for launch on November 22nd it wouldnt. Read thee OP people.

Jesus is everyone that bad here?

It allowed them to optimize it in much better time. If they  had to build the infrastructure the game would either A ) not look as good due to less time to optimixe or B) be delayed a year to get the same result.

The cloud helped in that they saved development time not having to painstakingly create the online infrastructure. It was there ready before they started. The cloud will help far more than just processing in the future.

Thats the point of this thread.

But the people that work on network infrastructure aren't the same people that build the engine or create the art. And there are plenty of companies that offer cloud storage, server hosting and any other network infrastructure that they would require. Hell MS could have let them use Azure any time in the last 3 years, or Turn10 could have went to any of the other providers. Also MS offering cloud storage and proccessing doesn't suddenly stop the developer from having to architect how to use it. If anything the Drivatar feature people cost a lot of development resources to archect the systems for collecting driver data, proccess it, pull it down and intergrate it back into the game etc. So if anything it probably took up more resources that could have been spent optimising the game.

Also the Cloud by definition is destributed computing (storage and processing) resources over a network. All computing it the storage, proccessing and communication of data, what more  could it possibly be?

Who are you?

Turn 10 are an awesome developer. No reason to not trust them. Sorry but I'll listen to them. Not you are any other wannabe on vgc whon tries oh so hard to put down ALL Microsoft teams all the time.

Do you work for Turn 10? Didnt tink so.
