Herecy! I thought the ending was fantastic!

Glad I'm not the only one

I personally never got the bashing it got over the actual ending. The concept was sound, they 'tried' to explain it but I think what people were really angry is what actually happened. After all your choices, good or bad, then at the end it was essentially the same thing 3 times over.

No, 2 times, as I played the game without multiplayer first time and never got that 3rd option. I was so angry at this you wouldn't believe. Imagine if you don't pay for XBL Gold, you will never get to see that 3rd option.

Makes me glad I played it on PC

There were other ways to get your galaxy readiness up if you didn't have access to multiplayer though. I used to play Mass Effect Infiltrator (Android) and you can trade in intel to increase your readiness score. I think the iOS datapad app also had a way to improve your readiness.

To be honest I thought the ending made perfect sense.

*SPOILERS*

I mean, they spent all of the second and third game telling us how hopeless it was, how overwhelming the odds were against us.  Hell, the whole second game was actually described as a suicide mission.  Where the hell did people get this idea that somehow they were going to get their Hollywood happy ending?  Even the optimal ending leaves the galaxy pretty much shredded, and Sheppard barely alive - and anyone that expect less wasn't paying attention.  The whole point of the series was the futility of the characters actions in the face of such an overwhelming, timeless, intelligent force.  Then people turn around and whinge about the futility of their own choices?  THAT WAS THE POINT!

End rant
