look at super mario 3D land for 3DS, 3DS have no thropy system, but in this game, it show to other players how many stars you have, they are proportional to how much of the game you have completed.
And are only 5 stars.
Majoras mask, the trhopies are the own masks, complete all masks gives you new gameplay elements. For me it is the perfect definition of what a thropy should be. (And in this case they dont show to the world)
Not all games need thropies, but the games that need, you already have.
But if what motive you to play is to show the tropies to the world, something is wrong.
