If you need a trophy/achievement to motivate you to play a game, you're playing for the wrong reasons.....

/thread

Well that wasn't very nice.

OP: I felt the same way when I transitioned from 360 to Ps3 around 2007. The lack of achievements/trophies was unbearable. I felt like I didn't make any progress completing games, particually single player games. When the 2008 patch came out, I become a "trophy addict" and played a number of bad games just to get the trophies.

I eventually grew out of it, however. I realized that, in the end, nobody cares what trophies I had. Besides my own OCD needs to collect these virutal items, I was still playing shitty games. Once you have trophies for a while, you stop caring about them. At least for me. Now I play for the experience. I'm big on that. I take my time on games, and try to make them as memorable and enjoyable as possible.

If I had a Wii U i'm sure i'd be able to at least enjoy Mario 3d world without trophies :)
