You're also forgeting that the PS2 was $129 6 years into it's lifecycle. And the PS2 sold 20M when its price dropped to $99.

It doesnt, it just needs to sell another ~21 Million plus whatever else the Wii sells. ~21 Million aint too much really, though we need to see how PS3 numbers will be in 2014 with a brand new PS4 on the market. It could take 3-4 Years or it might fall short.

The PS2 was also a profitable machine, where Sony could afford to take it to $129 and $99. Were gonna see some PS3 cuts down the line for sure, but its never gonna be PS2-level affordable. The other countries are also willing to buy different machines like the 360, PSP and hell some were even buying the PS2 up until recently. We know for a fact that the 360 is doing really well in Central/South America for example.

The point is you cant say the PS3 will have the same tail as the PS2 or even the PS. Support is totally different. The competition is totally different. Everything is different.

Just ignore this guy. As big of a Playstation fan I am, the Ps3 will not surpass the Wii. It might get to 90-93 million at the end, but not that 100 million mark.
