Same. Thing. Every. Year. No innovation and still sells basookamillions. It creates a monopoly-like effect that discourages other developers taking a chance with new IP's or niche titles. It defines what is wrong with the gaming industry. |
Ghosts has all new stand alone game modes like Safeguard, Squads, and Extinction, all of which on their own pack as much content and playability as many other shooters in their entirety. Then of course you still have the SP, and the robust MP. And both of those change just as much if not more than any other biyearly franchise. Most people don't even realize these games are worked on for 2 years by alternating developers. It's not the "same thing every year".
And strangely enough CoD blew up this gen and yet we still saw plenty of risky IP's and niche titles. And before this gen we saw the same type of market dominance and cloning with GTA. Last gen seemed pretty good to me.
The only cancer is the vitrol spewed by people who should just be happy that people are buying games in general.
