Mass Effect was a different story EA bought Bioware and with it they gained the publishing rights for Mass Effect so unless some other publisher buys Capcom the game will stay a X1 exclusive. 

Well just if you don't know... when someone buy a company (not just the IPS on the case of a bankrupt) they contracts are still valid... so it doesn't any difference even if Sony buys Capcom if the IP is owned to MS or they have timed exclusivity it won't become void unless Sony pay MS to step out... Or you would believe that if someone buy the company you work for you are automaticaly unemployed?
