From what I can gather, Uncharted is probably not a game I would like all that much. I suspect I would play it for a few days to a week before getting bored of it (this is setting in with Assassisn Creed after three play sessions for reference) but I am pretty sure there are other people in my family who would love this. If the game allowes for randomly running around the world gunning down innocent bystanders it would most likely be a guaranteed superhit in my house, but there is a reason why I don't want my kids to play GTA.

For anyone keeping score: If I decide to double down on consoles, surprisingly I would lean towards a PlayStation 4 at this time. I will look into a couple more games and see if it makes sense to dish out to cash.


Uncharted is nothing like GTA if that's what you think :P It's pretty much an action-adventure movie in which you play the main role. Think Indiana Jones type of adventure.

You missed my point. The reference was that if Uncharted allows you to run around and randomly kill charatcers in the world for no good reason, I am sure it would be a smash hit in my household. (My kids spend an unreasonable amount of time in Assassins Creed assassinating for no good reason). But, if I wanted to get them a game where you randomly murder people, I would be getting GTA, which I won't, bacause I don't want them to play games that way.

That said, when people say the game plays like a movie I get a very bad vibe. Games that play like a movie is perhaps my least favorite thing in the world.

The Last of Us is amazing in the gameplay departement and it also has a masterful story wrapped around it. It's less cinematic than Uncharted. Give it a try, mate. Plenty of killing to do and you can choose how you want tackle encounters.

The Last of Us is for the PlayStation 3, so that is not going to happen. That said, I have very little interest in that game no matter what platform it comes out on.
