I don't think so. 

..kz3 ended on a bit of a cliff hanger and in a developer interview they already said those questions won't be answered in kz:sf.   basically they said this game flashes forward several generations to a time where (for unexplained circumstances) the ISA and the helgast are forced to live together.

aka,. reboot.

i think all you need to know is in the past the ISA and helgast were at war and hate each other.  i think any other story elements will be specific to kz:sf.


OK thanks for the summary.  Really didn't want to go back and play the old ones.  I am going to be spending a lot of money on video games this holiday season me thinks.


as a side note (not nessisarily specific to killzone) but there is generally someone who posts a youtube video of a collection of a game's cut scenes.  for most games it's a decent way to catch up on a fanchises story without playing the previous games.  i watched the GoW I and II videos before picking up GoW III and it worked out well for me.
