This gen, 2 of the consoles will be X86 based, so developers already have extensive knowledge of how to program for it. The differences over time won't be as dramatic, aside from the Wii U; Its IBM cpu and edram makes it different to program for, meaning games will look better over time and improve. The other consoles will remain relatively the same. |
They may have less to learn so it may not take 7 years but they arent expected to have things perfect on year one either.
