I didn´t read most of it but i think i got the point of the article.
Although it`s admirable what Sony did with the PS3 and how it can still maintain high sales going into PS4, it`s no less true that, on the business side, i doubt (don`t have numbers to prove anything) PS3 can be called a success.
Had this generation go the same 5 years as the other generations have gone and things could have been a lot worse for PS3/Sony (MS included).
Despite the years in profits, there were also a lot of years in the red and businesswise, that`s not good.
Not to mention, it lost it`s dominance in the market.
Other thing to notice is that despite all the new IP, how many did reach system seller status and become future system sellers?
