But hey, what do I know ? I would have prefered 720p at 60fps to be honest.

I think most developers goal is to try and max out everything, until they can't. 

The actual game doesn't come out til next year sometime.  So, their ability to run 1080p and 30fps now for the free Beta at launch is pretty good.  Who knows, maybe they can get the fps up to a haigher number by launch.
