So what is the one thing the 3DS has that the Vita doesn't?  A consistant flow of new games.  Indies are nice and all, but they will have little to no impact on sales, it needs actual retail games.  I'm not gonna say Sony needs to start making a ton of Vita games because all their studios are busy with the PS4 and I have no idea how many are capable of developing both at the same time, but seriously all Sony needs to do is start localizing the dozens of Vita games in Japan and they will get that consistant flow of games.

For anyone saying Japanese games will not make a difference look at the highest selling games on the Vita, the 4th highest selling is a JRPG, Persona 4, only beaten by big exclusives Uncharted, CoD and AC.  If you look at the list these multiplatform games sell terible with the exception of a few and the JRPGs are selling pretty well and yet Sony's Third Party Production Team isn't focusing on localizing JRPGs, they are getting more multiplatform games in the form of Borderlands 2...

When you look at the PSP one of the main reasons to buy it was the huge liabrary of JRPGs that got localized and now Sony has gone in the complete opposite direction.  Localizing these games will cost very little to Sony and it makes no sense that they are not doing it.  So what do you guys think?
