This thread is an interesting read. One side saying 'stop being nosey', the other side trying to explain.

I can understand the opening posts concern, the idea is that the person they were talking to (while giving a very genuine reason) wasn't making sense based on basic logic and being, well, a uninformed buyer.
"I'm getting it because my friends are getting it."
"Why is that?"
"Because that's what they had before."

The thing is, it's not what they had before, it's a brand new console generation and there is no reason why the guy couldn't say to his friends, "Dude, I'm getting a PS4 this gen because of *insert valid reason*" and his mates saying "Actually yeah, that's a good idea, if we all get the same console we can still play together."

But hey, if their friends are getting Xbone's because they had 360s and that's the only reason, let them. It's a poor reason at the start of a generation but it's their decision none the less.
