What? I mean why in the world would it kill the Mobile ver. of the PSVita, when they are both Playstation Vita's?

they both use the very same format, both devices use the very same storage cards, and both use Remote Play freature. the point is its a

Playstation Micro-console, Sony out of the Big three is the first one to make these type of Microso-console's, you do not think that OUYA was going to be the only one did you? or that Samsung or Google or other companies were not just going to ignore the living room as a way to sell More smart device App's to people? Sony is making sure they have a presence in the Micro-Console area, you can bet Nintendo and Microsoft will soon follow to make sure they also have a presence in this part of the market.

the Living room HUB, ie: all these next generation living room consoles, are built to be Hub's included in the very foundation of the design, the Nintendo WiiU, with its Tablet controller , and Microsoft with Smartglass..Apple with Apple TV. GOOGLE With Google TV.

all PSVita's and PSVita TV's will be able to run GaiKai, that means even if you do not have a PS4 you can still get GaiKai, and the very fact this console is cheap to boot and the fact that its also a min-Living room Hub also.. direct connection to any other PSVita is making sure that just like the PS4 larger Hub, Sony wants you to look at if your not using a PS4 for your Living room Hub, you can also have a Living room Hub with it being a PSVita  instead. Notice even without the PS4 in the Picture, is if someone was to get a PSVita TV instead, you can still use functions that allow you to take the games on the Go with a Mobile PSVita anyway.

One PS4 in the living room + PSVita TV in every bed room or a PSVita = PS4 extended to every room of your House thus unifies again the game on the go.

it was about unifying Playstation as a platform, its no longer just about making just a handheld anymore that's not going to cut it anymore,

Many consumer's want the same Apps, on the go be they in any where in your house or in the case of Sony's playstation anywhere you are as long as you have internet or Not "in the case of Home" you could use remote play without even having internet!
