You shouldn't blindly believe Pachter just because he's a professional analyst (like when he predicted that Fuse will sell 5 million copies):

Where they got the data matters because it's if not their own prediction, then they shouldn't take credit for it. If they're changing it to match publisher numbers, they should say so.
At the end of the day, VGChart's predictions are kinda of accurate in some instances but mostly hit and miss.
