My hope with the Psygnosis trademark is that the rumours about Studio Liverpool staff being moved into Evolution Studios were true, and they have their own little sub-team within Evolution which has been branded Psygnosis. And they're the ones working on WipEout PS4.
Wishful thinking, I know.
Regarding this game: why the hell not indeed? If anything, this looks like more 'traditional' WipEout than anything we've seen since Pulse. HD Fury, although fantastic, was just a collection of tracks from Pure & Pulse. 2048 I really enjoyed; but it messed with the WipEout formula and changed the tracks so they were open spaces through real locations; rather than the (to quote the IGN reviewer) "custom built rollercoasters in the sky" of the previous games (with the exception of Sol).
So it's been 5 years since we've had this kind of content. Graphics be damned; I'm looking forward to anything new that resembles WipEout, especially with the franchises' future being so uncertain.
