I don't think we need to be grateful for MS or Sony for supporting their consoles for over 8 years. Both companies came out and publicly stated that their consoles have a 10-year life span. If they are stating that, then they had better buckle up and support it for 10 years straight and not a day less. No, I am not saying MS is not supporting it - and I am sure they would throw a few more exclusives to the 360 had they had a more robust first party - but their first party is indeed far smaller than the competition (both Sony and Nintendo) and so they have shifted them to develop software for X1.
Is the 360 a good product? Sure. Is the PS3 currently better for the additional support - I would say so.
