They went from 7 first party studios (I think) with the 360 to 18 working on the Xbox One. Trust me that would make a difference. They won't need to resort to third parties that much (like Epic and Gears of War) since they can produce meaty content. That exclusive support you speaking of its first five years was more from second and third party than from the first party ones, because they didn't have enough studios to keep up the pace by Nintendo and Sony.
And since what I like to do is playing games no matter what the platform, I'm happy with it. I've managed to play almost every single exclusive game from every console this generation. I'll be getting a next-gen console by 2015, probably the WiiU or the Xbox One. So I am in no hurry for the next generation. |
I hope you are right (even tough some of the new studios is unproven ones, but with MS cash and some already talented studios if they do like sony do with the Santa Monica and Naughty Dog giving support to other 1st and even some 3rd they will be good).
And yes, Ninty kill off of older consoles is unmatched (but that is mainly because they have to support alone all their home consoles (sadly))...
I haven't bought any MS console because their 1st parties don't attract me (fps) or I have a preffered game (for me GT tops not only FM but any other game on the planet... yep I am a huge lover of it)... and for RPG I'm a sucker for FF so Lost Ocean and Fable don't have my attention (and most other rpgs don't as well)...
I'll maintain my mind of no support after some years... I'll gladly change that if proven wrong, and if some game interest me I may buy one down the road (to be sincere I loved one demo game that came with my brother X360, that were you basically garden)... but even taking that point and seeing that X360 dropped support THERE IS NO DISCUSSION THAT FOR ANYONE THAT HAVE X360 THEY COULD STILL PLAY FOR 10 MORE YEARS AND KEEP DISCOVERING MARVELOUS GAME ON IT (EXCLUSIVE OR NOT).... any platform with more than 500 games can't be said to have no games).
