Well, how about having one single cohesive online multi-platform gaming experience? Doubt it is in the cards for the first game but it's likely going to be a reality one day.
My guess is once Microsoft ships the Xbox One Wireless Controller for the PC you may hear talk of PC/Xbox One cross-platform gaming. Microsoft has teased it, but they haven't said full-stop whether they will do it or not.
If Titanfall does go multiplatform, and while the door was left open for it being on the PS4 understand Microsoft probably has a first right of refusal for exclusivity, there's the possibility that you could have cross-platform gaming with the PS4 as well.

Why would you ever what a cross platform shooter with PC, Pad Vs Mouse and Keyboard will never be fair on that genre, unless its co op only.
But yeah they should have more cross platform play, not sure why theve been so against it so far.

My guess would be the only way they would allow cross platform play is if Microsoft released the wireless adapter for the PC and required the Xbox One Wireless Controller for any cross platform games. Otherwise, yes. They keyboard/mouse combination could offer an unfair advantage to PC gamers. Though they could nerf the controls for PC gamers who use mouse/keyboard but that might not be the best solution to that problem, imho.
