Welp, that answers that. I still don't expect this kind of thing to become the norm, but that extra power in the PS4 is already showing its worth.

It will be the norm.

PS4: 900p/1080p
Xbone: 720p/900p

This is the power gap between the two system... and 32MB eSRAM is not enough to 1080p framebuffer (even Crytek admited that).

I know I've already said this but I just can't believe MS made the same error with the Xbone like they did with the 360. It just beggers belief their tech guys did that.

360 10MB EDRAM- 720P with pared back effects or all the effects but sub 720p.

Xbone 32MB ESRAM- 1080p with pared back effects or all the effects but sub 1080p.

Also crucially the GPU is much weaker so lower resolution will mean better performance. I guess like 360 it has a good scaler.

You right about the power gap. It will be just resolution being 50 or 100% more pixel on PS4 but all the effects will be the same (unlike a lot of current gen games) or same resolution as PS4 but pared back effects.

I can't just see MS losing the US and UK market dominance they've built up this generation. They have screwed up big time unless they can convince the entertainment market as a whole to invest in their system as an all in one complimentary set top box.
