I'd still say the price cut isn't coming until the holidays next year and even then I'd expect Microsoft and Nintendo to be able to match it. I mean just a comparison to Microsoft they produced the Xbox360 at launch for about a 125 dollar loss and after about a year were able to take off about $200 dollars however had few exotic parts to worry about such as a blu-ray player and a Cell processor. Throw in the fact that Microsoft will likely get out 65nm machines around the same time as the PS3 and you can add in at least another 25 dollars saved per unit (guesstimate) and you basically have Microsoft being able to drop the price of the Xbox 360 at $100 dollars to coincide with any PS3 drop and well Nintendo I'd say by the time the PS3 gets to the point where they will be able to cut their cost likely will be able to drop their price down by at least $75. Anyways though all this has been discussed before like the orginal poster said to me anyways just seem like the PS3 will be in 2nd or 3rd this generation and part of that is lower sales even if your system is a value at $600 with actual cost of $840.
