What do you think a developer should do when the end of game x development is nearing? Fire everybody? If they want food pn the table, they better start with game x+1 development..
Unfortunately the developer is on the short end of the stick. They get paid to do a game and then hope they get funding to another game. If MS/EA thinks Titanfall 2 should also be an exclusive, then expect it to be an exclusive - unless Respawn goes moneyhunting for another bank.
