Fighting with Monsters - A look at Beyond Good and Evil
The article I am linking to is a three-page love letter to Beyond Good and Evil. I know that I have expressed my passion for this game multiple times, and that passion will never die. Out of all the games I have ever played, the sales of BG&E really hurt me the most. The story behind the game’s creation is what makes the lackluster consumer reception so hard to swallow.
This game was Michel Ancel’s dream game. While he loves Rayman, that limbless hero was raking in cash that would help fund Beyond Good and Evil. Mr. Ancel put all he had into BG&E…spirit, time, sweat, and tears. Unfortunately, all he was left with in the end were heaps of praise from the media, and a very cold shoulder from the public. I am glad to see articles like this that really explain the game to people, in the hopes of sparking some interest. You should really click over and read…I’ll sit here with my fingers crossed in the hopes of a sequel.
Here is the 3 page letter
