Applied a a 20% increase in contrast to the ps4 image, and applied a simple single sharpen filter (with same parameters that most modern TVs can apply to video signals in their options, and indeed, same parameter used by the xbox one upscaler), and what you will see is near identical images in all aspects except for resolution and the black cuttoffs on the Xbox One being too aggressive in some areas.
So Xbox Ones perceived advantage in texture clarity and contrast, can be remedied by adjusting your TV settings, your tv settings cant however, increase the xbox ones resolution or framerates.
