They arent dying out at the moment just if that trend continues they will reduce in numbers. And why is that notion insulting ? I dont see how this could be insulting.
Its irrelevant ? Maybe to you, race is a social construct but optics are measurable the traits like haircolor, skincolor and eyecolor which are commonly used to classify white people is something to be missed imo and relevant to some people, not talking about culture, just about the optics. I really like nordic blondes and its not in my interest to encounter less of them than I already do.
