Can't we all just quit spouting out fake words like "Hardcore gaming" as if it is the definition.  I understand when it's used its just to signify something like a very avid player of video games, but there's no real definition to the word.

We all seem lost in identifying a hardcore gamer.  With this site, this post alone, we try to define hardcore gaming, but seem more confused about what it is when it's all said and done.  Try to categorize a game like COD or GOW or Halo, even smash bros.  Are they hardcore or casual?  My 9 year old nephew has never played Cod up until this year.  He mainly plays Mario or pokemon, but he took to it like a fish to water.

My problem using the word 'Hardcore gaming' is that it equates to something like a group of bicyclist, not motorcyclist, calling themselves Hells Angels.  It seems to me like those kind of gamers like to aggrandize what they do.  Personally speaking, I play games from all walks of life.  I play primarily mobas on pc like Leagues or Dota or smite.  I also play Total war on pc and now and again I play FPS like borderland or Fear.  When it comes to my PS3, I subscribe to PS plus so I play all sorts of different games and I have the habit of downloading, install and uninstall to make room for new games since my memory is all filled up.  With my Wii, I play games like smash, Pokemon, just dance, I even modded my other Wii to play games that's hard to find like jrpgs.  Yes I have two wii, don't ask, I just came upon 2.  I have a Wii U Xbox360 that I play all to hell almost everyday and of course I've racked up hours and hours.  Even with my pallet filled to the brim, I don't consider myself hardcore.  It's always been a hobby of mines since Mario on the Nes.  And yes, best believe that the xbone and ps4 are on my wish list.

The only ones I consider close to hardcore are those who do it for a living and then again we don't call them hardcore, we call them Pro.
