Backers do get the game over a certain amount ($30) and that is both access to Star Citizen and the Squadron 42 singleplayer missions. And if you backed in the first couple of months or during the kickstarter you got Alpha/Beta access. That is how these crowd funding projects usually work lol.

 

I don't know how this thing usually work, but the very few times I looked at one of these projects (2 or 3), the gifts didn't include the game. Just some merchandising and appearing in the credits.

But I'm glad to know that the ones who give what would cost the game are getting the game for free.
