Guerilla Cambridge made KZ:M, it's a different studio than the main Guerilla one that's working on KZ: Shadowfall. From what we know Bend is too small to have two teams working on a PSV and PS4 simultanously, hence a PS4 game means we won't be getting anything from them on Vita for years. I totally agree with MUGEN and am pissed at Sony and Yoshida. |
I kind of get it though. it seems that they seriosuly entertained the idea of discontinuing the vita and decided to keep it as a niche product and treat it as such. In other words, try to make some money off of it, without spending much, hence the emphasis on indies. As a company they know that if they were to keep supporting it with huge exclusives, it would bleed money. If they discontinued it, they'd lose loyal customers. They chose something in between. Dedicate few sources on it, so that they can make a small profit from all the software that the hardcore audience who's bought a vita keeps purchasing.
I don't completely blame them. They tried with Uncharted, with wipeout, with an amazing killzone, an awesome Little Big Planet and I doubt these titles made their money back or moved enough units to justify first party support. Soul sacrifice should have been huge. Same with Gravity Rush. Unfortunately, it hasn't been the case. I'm sure they could have done more (God of War, Gran Turismo portable 2, have naughty dog make an uncharted for vita etc), but alas. I blame for how thinsg got so bad, but at this point, I don't see them trying to save it.
