I'd say PS3 had arguably the strongest year of its entire life this year; which is great, except it seems to have come at the expense of early support for the PS4 and any support at all for the Vita. PS3 didn't need as many games at it's gotten this year; it's been complete overkill. Which is great for me as a consumer, but not great for Sony as a company.
I just feel his priorities are wrong. He's happy to give Naughty Dog; SSM etc. a free pass on not developing anything for handheld consoles; which would be fine if he were mandating other studios to focus on them. But he isn't. Bend apparently are now switching to PS4; Studio Liverpool & Zipper Interactive both got shut down after making Vita games.
It's just a mess, imo. The Japanese arm is now bombarding Vita next year (Soul Sacrifice; Over my Dead Body 2; Freedom Wars; Gravity Rush 2) after neglecting it for 2 years; yet they've got nothing in the pipeline for PS4. Meanwhile, western studios are all clamouring to get games out for PS4 despite most of them missing the launch; and not one of them has any Vita projects on the go.
