lol for X/Y I think it would have been easier just to reset until you get a female starter, then breed it and trade off the babies for all the other starters. Also, what kind of mad genius can't figure out their pokemon team?

 

Of those listed I'd probably go with Greninja, Aegislash, Garchomp, Gardevoir, Charizard, and Jolteon. All different types and they can all cover for each others weaknesses.

Gasp!  No Lucario?!  I have lucario in ALL my teams!  he/she's my favorite pokemon!  

And I Tried the "go for female" starter thing, didn't work.  After a dozen tries, it just didn't work.  

You just needed to have kept trying as it eventually will work! I got a female Froakie and Bulbasaur that way afterall!
