@Raven722 about the V-Sync...

if you have a game locked at any framerate you didn't need v-sync because your game won't show a lot of screen tearing... but when you have a variable framerate you start to get a lot of screen tearing that is really bad. So the V-Sync create duplicated frames to fit the HDTV screen refresh hate... so when the game is running at 45fps the V-Sync duplicate 15frame to get 60fps to show in your TV.

When you do that the incidence of screen tearing is decreased to close to some cases close to 0%.

Variable framerate without V-Sync = BAD
Variable framerate with V-Sync = GOOD

nVidia is showing a new tech called G-Sync with the goal to compete remove screen tearing in any variable framerate.
