Hell yeah fully customizable and elected Warzones baby! Play, Create, Murder should be the slogan. Seriously I'm pumped after that Gamescom trailer. OT: Why the hell don't more devs do local splitscreen online? I mean is it some technical hurdle? Are they just pushed to make people buy more systems by not being able to play with friends on the same one? I don't get how Halo, Borderlands, COD, and Resistance 2 can be the only ones who can accomplish this it seems. Just let me connect my friend's PSN through the second controller and BAM! My roommates could play Killzone with me on launch day. |
It's pretty annoying. It shouldn't be a real problem after you have gotten local multiplayer to work. I hosted an event where we had 3 ps3's and 3 screens and were 8 people... And getting to ALL be able to play together was a small nightmare :P ended up with about 2 games we could play.

Even though DICE is a pc centric developer, I'm sure that some of the developers on the team must enjoy couch gaming. The local multiplayer is, in my opinion, one of the biggest advantages over PC games.

While you have two sessions running and it may cause problems in case of asset streaming, it shouldn't be THAT big of a hurdle to overcome. Especially as you quickly free up resources when you lower the resolutions and effects. You could also use a lower LOD to simplify the assets that are streamed.
