Rather untrue, if you look at the Wii. How many pre-existing Nintendo franchises really made great use of the motion controls? Zelda (after 5 years of the console on the market) and Metroid Prime, but few others.
The more legitimate criticism is that Nintendo designs their hardware for what their game designers need and no others
