They most likely rounded up. They probably only shipped ~200K-300K. This would put them at 79.6M-79.7M. They will definitely reach 80M by the end of Oct, though.

I believe MS announced they will be offering the same $50 temp price cut from last year, but I don't it starts til the Halo 4 Bundle launches in early Nov.

So, that would put ~900K on shelves at the end of Sept. Sounds about right.
