Oh god. Stop with the No True Scotsman nonsense. A real fan of Nintendo is just that, someone who likes Nintendo/their products. You don't have to abide by some set standard of criticism towards Nintendo in order to be a fan of them.
I suppose you think you get to determine that I, for example, am not a Nintendo fan, despite buying all of their consoles and the Gamecube being my favorite console of all time, because my criticism doesn't fall under your arbitrary criteria.
And "Nintendo should do X" is an unacceptable criticism? That statement, mixed with the dozens of defensive posts in here, is very telling.
Yes, highly critical indeed.

I agree with this 100%. To some, being a Nintendo fan is more an exercise in groupthink rather than just being someone who loves to play Nintendo games. On this site I've been denied "Nintendo fan" status when criticizing certain aspects of my Wii U from a "true" fan who doesn't own one.
I think it would be a healthy exercise for people here to post 3 bad things about their favourite company, and 3 good things about their least, but there is no way that wouldn't turn into an excuse for cheap shots.

The bone of contention that I have with your viewpoints, at least, regards the third party situation. Proper understanding of the third party issue is a key pillar, at least as far as i have observed Nintendo communities.
I do apologize if I have been off-putting in the past, however. You are a reasoned poster and have much to contribute, even if i feel that part of your ideals are misguided.
