Playstation All Stars wasn't a very good game, it became very noticeable how unbalanced it was once you got to the point that you were playing it at a pro level with more than half of the roster.
Regardless of Playstation All Stars quality, I seem to remember the game being bashed for having only 20 characters at launch. Playstation fans argued 20 characters were enough since it's a new IP, and games such as Blaz Blue, a new series this gen only launched with 12.
Now since it's a game on their own preferred platform, Xbox fans are now defending a mere six characters at launch. Sure I'm all lumping them in one group, but it is kind of ironic that a good majority of these people probably bashed Playstation All Stars and are now defending Killer Instinct. Although they're defending a joke of a character line up this time around. Six characters at launch. The original Street Fighter only had one playable character, Ryu, but Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2 had 7 and 8 characters.
Killer Instinct for Xbox One isn't a new IP though. This isn't the first Killer Instinct. In fact, the first Killer Instinct has MORE characters available to play than the Xbox One version is going to have at launch. The first Killer Instinct has 11 characters while the Xbox One launch is going to consist of six, followed an additional two at a later date.
But hey. Killer Instinct on Xbox One will atleast be one of the more balanced fighters. Easy to have a lot of balance when everyone is playing the same few characters.
