Auron's comments I agree were very trollish. His statement was more of a personal attack than anything, imo.

As for SlorgNet, some of your comments were equally as outlandish as his.

I just reread your post (I merely skimmed it earlier), and I noticed you said that MS could drop the price by $150 without breaking a sweat. That is possible, if they didn't care about ever making a profit on the 360 again. The chances of it happening are slim to none. $50-100 maybe, but not $150 full stop.

However, I agree with some of Slorg's points, though not necessarily his conclusions. Particularly his point about MS being unable to compete on games. This is something that I have been saying since the beginning, and combined with brand loyalty this was my reasoning behind the ps3 eventually passing up the 360, and it was something I was saying even during the ps3's low points last Summer.

With most third party games going multiplat, it's up to 1st and 2nd parties to give each console the edge, and this is an area in which Sony excels. The fact that, of the two, the ps3 is the only one with any major third party exclusives left (MGS4, FFXIII, Tekken 6) has it's affects as well. The ps3 will eventually have a good edge over the 360 in games, imo.

I stated that they wouldn't ever do it, it is not as though I claimed that would ever happen.

As for games, all I have argued in this thread is that the 360 currently has the best library, and will have enough great games in the future to avoid justifiably being described as "crap" by people like Slorg and Auron.

By crap, I am assuming that they are referring to the 360’s build quality, which is undeniably true. Though M$ has been trying to address their hardware “issues” by setting aside over $1 billion  to cover repairs, adding heat sinks, redesigning the mobo and even using 65nm cpus. The problem is that the issue still exists as there are still reports of newer models experiencing “hardware failures”. The percentage of failures may have gone down, but the fact is that it is still around. And there is no denying that the 1st year adaptors (probably around 5m, maybe more) are probably sitting on a time bomb just waiting to explode, or die.

But setting the crap build quality aside, the 360is a good game console capable of dishing out gorgeous games.

As for the topic, the 360 is actually selling better than it did last year week on week. It’s just that the ps3 is selling better than the 360.  Probably due to the bd win, or the improved game library, or the lower price or a combination of all three. The point is that the ps3 is more expensive and has fewer games than the 360 but it is still selling better and has been doing it for 14 consecutive weeks is truly remarkable.
