Only 2-3 people in the world? Haha that's funny. Mods closed that thread because there was no new information on it. They said to make a new thread if anything else arises. They do it with every thread that takes off like that. |
CBOAT was behind the downclock rumors though, I have it on good authority. He just passed them on to thuway and others who posted it. He's the ringleader anyway. I also heard he initially posted the downclock was true then edited the post later.
But thuway, Proelite, and others DID post the downclock, the same people who are behind this 720P COD on X1 rumor. CBOAt also swore PS4 was releasing in Oct. He's pretty much 0% on recent comfirmable rumors. Mostly he deals in anti-MS FUD ("MS is in disarray behind the scenes, new driver kills 20% of performance" for example). And that FUD is non specific so it's not really disprovable. When he says something that is disprovable recently, it usually turns out false.
"ESRAM yield issues" is an example of non provable FUD. We cant prove or disprove that. They seem to have plenty of preorders and they upclocked the GPu though. and MS denied it, so I'd say the vast majority of evidence is against it. The only evidence supposedly for it is MS dropping some launch countries, but sales in those dropped countries are so low they wouldn't materially affect supply. MS said the reason was Kinect/localization, and that makes far more sense.
And yeah, I only know of two people who do the pixel counting, Alstrong on B3D and Quaz51 on B3D and GAF. Their findings then get spread all over. Do you know others? It's pretty difficult as far as I can tell, you're welcome to learn how and add a third person (heh). More people can learn I'm sure, but nobody bothers and I imagine it's pretty difficult.
Anyways you need released games for the pixel counters to do their magic. PR screenshots can be innacurate, you need direct framebuffer grabs to pixel count, which tend to only happen after a game is released. Short of companies telling us the resolution (and even then we must be careful, as PR people dont understand the difference between display resolution and internal rendering resolution), we must wait until the games are out.
