It wasn't just "fanboys" that started a baseless internet rumor of that percentage. Developers also said it (or something like it), so people believed it. Besides, isn't this a launch title? Have we forgotten what PS3 games looked like in 2006? Compare them with Beyond: Two Souls or The Last Of Us - leagues and leagues behind. Facial animation is not a strong suit of Killzone, no, but then this thread isn't about animation. |
Oh I know it wasn't fanboys starting a baseless rumor. However, it was fanboys who ran with it and made it get out of hand. As usual. Overreactions on both sides ensued. Now you can't even read about a PS4 game without someone asking where the 50% more power is being used.
I hope you're not misunderstanding my position. I think the game looks amazing and I'm not phased by lackluster human faces by comparison to some other great looking games. I think that as a whole visual package, Shadow Fall looks the best. I was simply pointing out that hardware can't make up for a studio that has trouble making human faces look good all around. I fully expect better by certain studios like Naughty Dog on their first go and by all studios making games on the PS4 down the line.
